Product description

Sandtex® Quick Dry Stabilising Solution – 2.5L

Sandtex® Quick Dry Stabilising Solution is a highly-penetrative primer, specially formulated to stabilise chalking and badly-weathered exterior walls.

When preparing walls for painting it is essential that the surface you plan to decorate is sound and stable. Painting on dusty walls or crumbling bricks without a stabilising primer is likely to result in poor adhesion and eventual breakdown of the paint itself.

Masonry Stabilising Solution for Chalking and Weathered Surfaces

This quick-drying surface treatment from Sandtex® is suitable for application to most exterior masonry surfaces; including rendering, roughcast, pebbledash and brickwork. It provides a sound and stable base for subsequent paint application and makes an ideal basecoat for the Sandtex® range of masonry paints.

Key Features

  • Stabilises chalky, weathered surfaces
  • Quick Drying
  • Easy to apply
  • Touch Dry - 4 hours
  • Recoatable - 4 hours
  • See More Information tab for Composition, Location suitability, Surfaces suitability, Coverage and  Application Method.

PREPARATION: All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from anything that may interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. Any faults in the structure, particularly those which may lead to moisture penetration must be rectified. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre -1960’s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. For further advice please contact the manufacturer.

Loose or flaking material: Remove all loose and flaking material by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush (not wire) back to a sound surface. Avoid inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable mask if dry sanding.

Organic Growth: All visible signs of organic growth must be removed by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush (not wire). The spores must then be killed by applying Sandtex Fungicide in accordance with the container instructions.

APPLICATION: Sandtex Stabilising Solution is ready to use and must not be diluted or mixed with decorative materials. Apply one coat with brush. One coat should be sufficient.
