Sandtex® 10 Year Exterior Satin

This versatile, multi-surface exterior satin paint from Sandtex® provides a soft, low-sheen finish to exterior wood, metal and PVCu surfaces with 10 years’ trusted protection from the elements.

Sandtex® 10 Year Exterior Satin is ideal for giving surfaces outside the home a sleek and sophisticated finish. Not just limited to doors and window frames, this wipeable paint is ideal for application to many outdoor home and garden features including doors, windows, gates, railings, garden sheds and playhouses. 

This solvent-based paint gives complete satin coverage in just two coats and our flexible paint formulation helps to prevent peeling and cracking, keeping your paintwork looking fresh – whatever the weather.

PREPARATION: All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease or surface contamination. Previously painted wood and metal surfaces must be thoroughly abraded to provide suitable adhesion.  Avoid the inhalation of dust.  Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.  Fill all voids and gaps with a suitable exterior filler.  Grey denatured timber will need sanding back to a clean surface. 

Apply one coat of Sandtex 10 year Primer Undercoat, followed by one or two coats of Sandtex 10 year Exterior Satin as required.  

For bare wood: Ensure wood is dry and treat knots and resinous parts with a knotting solution. Apply one coat of Sandtex 10 year Primer Undercoat, followed by one or two coats of Sandtex 10 year Exterior Satin.  

For metal surfaces:  Apply a suitable metal primer followed by one coat of Sandtex 10 year Primer Undercoat and one or two coats of Sandtex 10 year Exterior Satin.  

Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960's paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead.  For further advice contact the manufacturer.

APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly before use.  Apply by brush.  Apply evenly and avoid overspreading.  For best results 2 coats are recommended.  Allow at least 16 hours drying time between coats.  Clean brushes immediately after use with a proprietary cleaner.  "This product will provide up to 10 years protection provided the above instructions are fully carried out under normal conditions and that the substrate is sound.  Do not use in temperatures below 8°C or in high humidity.
