Painting Instructions

Preparation: Ensure surfaces are sound, clean, and dry. Fill small cracks with the material before application. Bring pointing flush with brick or blockwork or use Sandtex Trade High Build caulk. Thoroughly abrade previously glossed surfaces. Remove loose and flaking material by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush. Eliminate visible signs of organic growth by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush. Kill spores by applying Sandtex Trade Fungicide according to the container instructions. Brush down chalking, weathered, and porous surfaces and treat with Sandtex Trade Stabilising Solution. Allow at least 16 hours of drying time before decoration.

Application: Stir well before use. Intermix packs for consistent color. Mask as needed and remove masking tape immediately after application. Apply Sandtex Trade High Build with a trowel, roller, or spray. Use different tools like sponge, spatula, or patterned rollers to achieve various attractive finishes. For trowel application, coat with a 1-2mm thickness and texture as desired. For roller application, use a Sandtex Trade High Build roller or a textured finish roller. Thoroughly charge the roller and apply in random strokes for even distribution. Texture to the desired effect. Fill behind pipes or create a margin at internal angles using a small brush. Sharp roller textures can be smoothed with a spatula immediately after application. When spraying, apply a base coat of Sandtex Trade Fine Textured Matt in a similar shade before applying Sandtex Trade High Build. Allow the base coat to dry for 24 hours. Avoid application in rain, frost, or temperatures below 8°C during drying. Not suitable for bitumen surfaces.

Cleaning: Clean trowels, rollers, and equipment with water immediately after use. Wash equipment with clean, cold water.
