Painting Instructions

Preparation:

To ensure optimum results, apply one coat of Sandtex Trade High Cover Smooth Masonry diluted with clean water (40% by volume) as a primer for new or porous sound surfaces. Rectify any faults in old surfaces and pay special attention to areas prone to moisture penetration. Minor defects can be easily repaired with Sandtex Trade Exterior Easiplast. All surfaces must be thoroughly clean, dry, and free from any substances that may hinder adhesion. For sound gloss paint, ensure proper abrasion to create a suitable surface. When dry sanding, wear a suitable face mask to avoid inhaling dust. Remove loose or flaking material by scraping and brushing until a firm sound surface is achieved, using a stiff bristle brush (not wire). Eliminate organic growth by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush (not wire) and applying Sandtex Trade Fungicide following the manufacturer's instructions. Treat chalking, weathered, and friable surfaces by brushing down and applying Sandtex Trade Stabilising Solution generously. Allow a minimum of 16 hours of drying time before painting.

Application:

Prior to use, stir the paint thoroughly. Apply with a masonry paint brush, exterior roller, or airless spray for optimal results. For maximum durability, it is recommended to apply two coats of Sandtex Trade High Cover Smooth masonry paint. Avoid application during rainy or frosty conditions or when the temperature is below 8ºC. Always verify color accuracy before application to prevent any inconvenience. PaintWell takes no responsibility for decorating costs incurred due to the application of an incorrect color. For consistent color, intermix packs before use. Note: If needed, Sandtex Trade High Cover Smooth can be thinned by up to 10% with clean water for airless spray application (21 thou tip 65º angle).

Wash Care:

After use, clean your equipment with clean, cold water to maintain its longevity.
